What Business Do You Have with God? (Luke 8:26-39)
Lots of people enjoy haunted houses and scary movies, but what do you do when the monsters are real? In this passage Luke recounts an encounter between Jesus and a man whose life literally had been consumed by demonic activity. Jesus not only restored the man's soul and his sanity, but demonstrated his own divine superiority over the spiritual forces of evil. Along the way Jesus demonstrated that it is not enough to recognize the fact of who He is, but we also must submit to Him in faith.

Jesus Is Stronger than the Evil Powers (Luke 4:31-37)
Jesus not only claimed to be the Savior of the world, he backed up his claims through demonstrations of divine power. Luke recounts an incident where Jesus even demonstrated His authority over evil spiritual forces by casting a demon from a man in Capernaum. If even the unseen demonic forces are subject to Jesus' authority, then there is no oppression that we face which He cannot break.

Mercy Vs. Law (Luke 6:1-11)

Building on the Right Foundation (Luke 6:46-49)
When construction began on the Tower of Pisa in 1173, the builders made two critical mistakes: they built on unstable soil, and they built on an inadequate foundation. Only radical intervention has prevented the Tower from collapsing. In the same way, many people are building their futures on foundations that will not withstand the storms of life. In this passage, the conclusion to the Sermon on the Plain, Jesus indentified the only secure foundation for life.
