Pr. Erik and Intern Jeremy consider the various Gospels and how they compare … and differ. Matthew begins with a listing of Jesus’ lineage and shows, through who is on the list, that God’s love is for all people – not just those who are perfect. There is a prostitute. There are people who earlier in the Bible tricked and lied to others to get what they wanted. They are truly sinners yet saints. But they are all loved and all were parts of Jesus’ history. Luke begins, with the births of John the Baptist and Jesus, and the different, unique ordeals of the earthly parents. /nOne amazing thought: Joseph is told by an angel that he will essentially be the father of God – will teach Jesus, who is God, how to be human./nListen for more on these great Gospel images, and how they view Jesus differently. There’s a lot more than what’s above!
